Six years assessing the environmental and social impact of major infrastructure across Bangladesh (railways, gas pipelines, ports, roads) for funders including the ADB, JICA, World Bank, and AIIB. Now based in Enschede, Netherlands, building geospatial and disaster-risk analysis skills at ITC.
I started out doing fieldwork for Environmental Impact Assessments in Bangladesh, collecting water samples, running focus group discussions with people whose land sat in the path of a new railway line, and writing the reports that decide whether a project gets its environmental clearance. Over six years that turned into leading EIA/ESIA studies for some of the country's largest donor-funded infrastructure programs, from the Dhaka BRT corridor to gas pipeline expansions and railway conversions under the ADB and JICA.
In 2025 I moved to Enschede to start an MSc in Spatial Engineering at the University of Twente's ITC faculty. I'm building on the fieldwork and impact-assessment background with formal training in GIS, remote sensing, and disaster risk modeling: tools I was reaching for informally on projects like the Sandwip Island morphological assessment and the coastal afforestation study I published in 2024. My current coursework centers on urban heat island analysis and digital twin modeling for the built environment.
Outside of coursework, I'm currently President of Orbit, the ITC student association at the University of Twente, which keeps me in the same kind of coordination-and-people-management role I had running field survey teams back in Dhaka.
